Employment Opportunities at
Festival of States
Suncoasters is an organization of volunteer civic leaders who hold St. Petersburg in such high regard that they donate their time and money to produce a celebration each spring to honor their beloved city and, in the process, generate financial support and scholarships for youth education in arts and music.
Position: Executive Director
The Executive Director is responsible for the development and
implementation of the annual St. Petersburg Festival of States,
working under the direction of the Executive Committee of the Suncoasters of St. Petersburg.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Interface with
Suncoaster Membership with intent of keeping membership informed and
vitally involved with the festival events.

Interface with
City of St. Petersburg elected and appointed officials to assure
that the City of St. Petersburg is fully informed and in accord with
the proposed festival events, and will accordingly provide services
in kind to accomplish a smooth and successful festival.

Provide
leadership, vision, and specific recommendations regarding the
future direction of the Festival of States so that it remains
relevant to the citizens of St. Petersburg.

Obtain financial
sponsors to support the budget for implementation of the Festival of
States.

Determine and
implement appropriate marketing of the festival events.

Supervise other
staff employed by the Festival of States.

Prepare and
monitor the annual budget for the Festival of States and the
Suncoasters.
The Successful Candidate for the
Executive Director's Position will possess the following core

Bachelors Degree

Interpersonal

(a) Public
(b) Suncoaster Membership
(c) Elected and Appointed officials of the City of St.

Petersburg
Budget Development and Administration Skills

Adept at
Marketing.

Proficient
experienced in the role of fundraising with a history of success.

Experienced in
working with organizations utilizing substantial volunteer
assistance.

A Hands On (I
don't mind doing the work) manager, willing to take direction from
policy setting boards.

Reflects
Professionalism.
-
Goal Driven.
-
A visionary
regarding the evolution of the festival over time.
-
Leadership/Management experience.
-
A self starter,
combined with a strong work ethic.
-
Computer and
technology literate.
-
A person who
exudes enthusiasm for the festival program and the City of St.
Petersburg.

Event Management
experience.
